l've been fortunate enough to work as a Copywriter, Creative Director and Strategist in Australia and South East Asia for over twenty five years in big and small agencies. I still work in Singapore as the consulting Creative Director for BrandCourage Singapore and I'm on the ground there regularly. The experience has equipped me well to work across cultures and borders, at all levels. It also means that some clients benefit from brand and strategic experience that they wouldn't normally have access to.
I've worked through booms and recessions, with budgets ranging from hundreds to millions, and everything in between. Most of the work you see on this site is either from BrandCourage, or Cooch Creative, a regional creative consultancy, which my business partner and I founded about thirteen years ago in anticipation of the changes to the advertising and marketing industry.
Over the years I have tutored young creatives at AWARD school, lectured at universities, judged at local and internal award shows and been invited to share my opinion in industry publications, such as Campaign Brief and Ad News.It's also been an honour to have mentored some brilliant young minds that have gone on to achieve far bigger things than I ever did. I've been invited to speak at various creative events, such as Emergence in Margaret River and made five appearances on the ABC's Gruen TV show.
I know find myself helping clients to navigate a far more complex communication landscape than ever before. It means that I can be presenting to the board one day and working with their internal marketing team the next. It's varied, challenging and very much hands on, which is just the way I like it.
